| The marina at Kiten has a large yacht club and small harbour behind the breakwater. It is surrounded by hotels on the hillside and on initial approach the harbour might seem crowded, but this is due to the closeness of the beach.
Sozopol has a large island off the mainland which hides the harbour which is entered from the west via a very long breakwater. There is a large naval college building sitting on the edge of a narrow peninsula which makes the approach difficult to determine. Yachts are forbidden to moor in the naval area on the left hand side of the port and the right hand side if full of small fishing boats with a quayside depth of only one metre so it can prove difficult to find somewhere to tie up.
The harbour at Bourgas has a control tower and ships anchored outside so the entrance is relatively easy to find. It offers excellent shelter.
Pomorie Harbour can be easily found as it has a large modern hotel which is built in the design of ship standing next to the breakwater which also has a tower which can be clearly seen. It offers good shelter but is open to the north west.
If you are approaching the marina as Nessebar from the east and cannot see the cross on the church then you are coming in too close. There are extensive rocks to the east and if entering from this side stay within ten metres of the end of the northeast mole to avoid the rock in the bay which forms part of the marina.
Port Varna Yacht Club, Golden Sands Marina and Marina Baltchik all offer excellent shelter and have electricity available on the quay and marine repair facilities.
