Varna is with a population of 325.137 the third largest city in Bulgaria, stretches 11 km along the coast and is therefore known as the Sea Capital or the Pearl of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. It is beautifully situated in the Bay of Varna, between the Avren and the Frengen Plateau. Especially during the summer months, the city is a perfect place to relax and to enjoy the natural surroundings and the warm climate. Vineyards, gardens, mountains and the sea is what are surrounding this cultural and traditional city, which makes it not only a popular holiday resort but also a great place to live. The city of Varna disposes of a port which is used for both naval and commercial shipping and invites tourists and locals for a stroll. Of course there are many other things that can be visited within the city and its surroundings. Some of them are the numerous art galleries and museums (National Revival Museum, Museum of the History of Medicine, the Museum of New History, etc.), the Aquarium, historical buildings, the Kamchiya nature reserve, the former Royal Palace, the Stone Forest, the Marine Gardens, the Paradise of St. Constantine and the Euxinograd Park.
