Razgrad municipality is in the northeastern part of the Danubian plain bordered by the regions of Ruse, Silistra, Shumen and Turgovishte. It is in valley of the Beli Lom River which divides the region in two and is 60 km from Rousse, 130 km from Varna, 55 km from Shoumen and 36 km from Targovishte.
Three prehistoric settlement mounds on the outskirts of the town and thirty burial mounds and archaeological finds in the Hissarlaka area prove that Razgrad dates back to the the ancient Thracians.
The town has wonderful areas for rest and relaxation including the youth and town parks and lakes at the dam which is where many of the townspeople go to sunbathe, swim and fish.
The nearby reserve of Voden offers excellent conditions for hunting red and fallow deer, wild boar, aurochs and moufflon which are prestigious to have as trophies.
