In Pleven you will be able to find one of Bulgaria's five High Medical Institutes. It has been established in 1974 and until now, there are over 4000 students who graduated from the Institute, which includes more than 550 international students. A six-year English medium course in medicine, which includes a course in Bulgarian language is offered by the High Medical Institute -Pleven.There are two faculties available in the Pleven Medical University: the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Public Health. Facilities include an Institute Hospital, specialized clinics, research units, therapeutic facilities, a contemporary pre-clinical base and many other modern equipments and facilities. Students have the opportunity to take advantage of a wide range of leisure facilities as well as the two student hostels that are located on the campus.
