Pamporovo is a modern sunny ski resort which has good snow throughout the season. It is located 1650 metres above sea level at the foot of Peak Snejanka in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains. It is 260 km from Sofia, 85 km from Plovdiv and 35 km from Narechen.
Pamporovo has a wonderful climate with a mild winter averaging about 120 sunny days during the skiing season which runs from mid-December to mid-April. The average air temperature is 3°C with the high peaks protecting it from winds and preserving the snow cover.
Most of the ski runs start on Peak Snejanka and are between 1926 and 1450 metres above sea level. The ski school has a good reputation with experienced instructors teaching beginners in groups or individually. The lessons vary from between two to four hours every day and and length of the courses are from three to twelve days. All graduates are given a certificate.
