Lozenetz is a tiny village which is inhabited by just 250 local families 60km south of Bourgas with neighbouring villages of Kiten to the north and Tzavero to the south. There is a regular bus service between Lozenetz and Bourgas, or you can hire a boat from the nearby port of Tzarevo.
It has a long and beautiful beach and two small inlets. It is a very picturesque and unspoiled area where an increasing number of houses and plots are being purchased by wealthy Bulgarians from Sofia and foreigners for use as holiday homes.
The village was established in 1924 by sea loving settlers from the inland village of Vlika. It was originally named Emberli after a variety of grape and subsequently called Lozenetz which represents the many vineyards surrounding the village.
Because this is such an unspoiled area entertainment is somewhat limited. The first church was built in Lozenetz just four years ago. There is a luxurious holiday complex at the northern end of the village which has a bar, restaurant, bistro, coffee house, shops sports grounds and internet cafe. Of you can take a boat trip along the Ropotamo River with the dense Longoz (tropical forest)on its banks.
Because of its location, fresh fish is the speciality in the local restaurant, served with locally produced wines.
