The Municipality of Dryanovo is located at an altitude ranging from 180 to 640 metres above sea level in the central part of the Forebalkan Mountain. It is easily accessible via the Rousse-Podkova railway and Rousse-Stara-Zagaro motorway, and is in a beautiful natural area surrounded by wooded mountain slops and close to the Yantra and Dryanovska Rivers.
There are many attractions to visit in the town including a museum with exhibits by the sculptor Boris Gondov, St Nikola Church, Dryanovo Monastery, Lafchiev House (which did not use one nail during its construction) and Holy Trinity Church with its beautiful carved wood ceilings.
In the Dryanovo area the oldest traces of life on the Balkan Peninsula have been discovered, with evidence of human presence being found in the Bacho Kiro caves in the valley of the Andaka River. Here are relics of ancient villages, Boruna and Diskoduratera fortresses, carvings and ornaments from Thracian and Roman times.
