The majority of all international flights to Bourgas are coming from Germany and Great Britain. Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester and Newcastle are some of the airports that provide regular flights. It was in 1971 that the Bourgas airport started operating regular international flights and therefore has become one of the most important airports in the country, with a passenger traffic volume of 1.552.000. The city of Bourgas is situated only 12 km away and Varna, which also has an airport, can be found in a distance of approximately 80 km. Bus lines, taxis and car hire desks can be found either within or outside the terminal, which makes it easy for everyone to get to their final destination. Buses are running from monday to friday from 5.55 to 23.25 and on holidays from 6.30 to 22.25. Besides the duty free shopping facilities that are open all day and offer all kinds of goods, there is also a bank, a restaurant, cafes, a post office, currency exchange offices (four at the arrivals hall and one in the departures area) and many other facilities available within the airport.
