The city of Blagoevgrad is the most important city in the region. It is situated in the south west of Bulgaria and well known due to the American University that is located there. Besides that, Blagoevgrad is also a city full of culture and history with numerous sights and highlights. Hotels can be found in the centre of the city as well as in the outskirts. The Alen Mak Hotel for example is one of the numerous three star hotels within Blagoevgrad. It has 162 guestrooms (all of them are equipped with air conditioning, en suite bathroom, mini bar, refrigerator, telephone, satellite TV and more), a conference hall, a restaurant, a bar, a tavern and a club. Additional there are also other three star hotels available: the Fenix Hotel, the Hotel Eserets, the Hotel Avalon, the Hotel Alfa, the Hotel Kristo.
